The two Boylston Street sites of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing transformed with this beautiful memorial. Each site is 60 feet long, the sidewalk inlaid with bronze and stone. A central stone monument at each site pays homage to the three victims. Four cast bronze light beacons at each site stretch towards the sky and illuminate the site with new hope. They are 16 and 20 feet tall, and were cast in 56 individual pieces. We were honored to work with the following collaborators:

Pablo Eduardo, Artist; Robert Corning of Stantec, Landscape architecture; Pat Garrett, Stone work; Ross Art Studio, cast glass; McCourt Construction, site work

Powder Coated Steel

Year

2018

A project where our teams creativity was allowed to truly flow. We were given full trust in the design, and the opportunity to bounce ideas back and forth with the client. Teamwork and planning allowed for flawless execution and an extremely precise install. The goal from the client was to avoid bulky vertical elements and focus on an elegant streamlined design. Powder coated steel stringers and railings combine with ash wood backlit treads for a completely custom and modern feel.
